Bank Street Arts

Bank Street Arts

Bank Street Arts is a contemporary art centre, focusing primarily on the intersections between art, performance and experimental writing. Established in 2008 initially as a studio complex for artists, the independent and self-funded organisation has expertly controlled its own momentum, and now sits at the centre of the Sheffield art scene. One of its primary aims is ‘to provide opportunities for anyone interested in contemporary art, craft and writing to participate and get involved’.

Artists using the centre include jewellers, visual artists, illustrators, designers, poets, publishers, photographers, architects and much more. There are many ways to get involved with BSA; firstly the studios are available to rent for general use, or personal exhibitions. Existing exhibitions are constantly searching for potential contributors and collaborators. The organisation also runs a yearly esteemed Artist’s Book Prize, taking submissions from anywhere in the world, with the winner getting their book exhibited and a cash prize.
