The Montgomery Theatre

Montgomery Theatre

Originally built in 1886 as the home of educational and creative resources for surrounding and local churches, the Montgomery originates from humble beginnings. Nowadays it is a respected multi-purpose venue, showcasing everything from theatre and poetry productions to religious conferences. It also still continues to consistently serve over 100 fellow churches and individuals across the region, with the agenda that first defined its creation 129 years ago.

Consisting of a 420-seat Theatre, the Montgomery showcases many of Sheffield’s local performing arts groups, as well as a line-up of professional performances, orientated towards a family audience. There are multiple opportunities to get involved in anything and everything; from improvised comedy to directing classes.
